Honda heeft een prototype gepresenteerd van een mensachtige robot die in de toekomst inzetbaar moet zijn na rampen als die bij de Japanse kerncentrale in Fukushima. Het bedrijf presenteerde een paper over de robot tijdens een robotconferentie in Vancouver, meldt vakblad IEEE Spectrum. Honda werkt al enkele jaren aan de robot, die zeer flexibel moet zijn. In een video wordt gedemonstreerd hoe de E2-DR-robot onder meer een ladder kan beklimmen en door kleine ruimtes kan bewegen.
